The seminars will be a follow up to scientific and ethical program of the past convention days. Take the chance and get to know Prof. Vincent M. Rotello and Dr. Daan C. Swarts in their Meet-the-Prof seminars. As we want to encourage ethical confrontation and discussion in young scientists, we will offer ethical seminars, led by Dr. Mirko Himmel, whose research focuses on the control of biological weapons at Hamburg’s Centre for Science and Peace Research. These seminars are a follow up to the panel discussion and will give convention attendees the opportunity to express their own opinion and ideas on this complicated topic and by chance learn more about the work of a peace researcher.

We offer two workshops that are supposed to bring a little more insight into the biotech industry as some of our attendees consider either a career in the industry or plan to open their own start-ups. The first workshop will be held by financial consultant MLP Finanzleistungen AG, who will give you insight and prepare you for application procedures in the industry. The second workshop is for everyone who plans to open or thinks about an own start-up and will be held by StartUp Dock Hamburg who will give you an introduction into entrepreneurship and what to look out for in the process.

For everyone who hasn’t visited DESY before, we warmly recommend the DESY Tour, which will give you insight about the work and research at the DESY campus in a short introductory lecture, followed up by the tour itself, where you get the chance to see a few of the many particle colliders, models and exhibits on the campus.

The voting will be closed on friday night. If you haven’t registered for a workshop or a seminar yet, just contact the ESCH team on Saturday per Facebook or e-mail (esch@junior-gbm.de).
